Mission trips and prayer journey's
Shawn and Laura Charles led our home group to Uganda east Africa in 2001. They let me tag along also taking the
trip was their son Kyle and our Ugandan friend Kato. We preached at KPC and the Trumpet center. We worked with
American missionary Tim Way and our new found friend Derick Kiboneka. We had the privilege of visiting Watoto
children's home. We did some bible distribution and that inspired me so much that I have continued doing that
year after year. THANK YOU SHAWN AND LAURA FOR SOWING INTO MISSIONS AND INTO MY LIFE, I
LOVE YOU DEARLY.
January 2003 Charles Olson Jr. and Sr. accompanied me back to Uganda. As usual working with Kato also working with Paul Busulwa, Richard
Kaaya, Jimmy Kigwana and Jackson Wadanya. We held a pastors conference and distributed Full Life study bibles to pastors including
Sudanese refugees.
After The Olson's and I got back from Uganda we shared about our trip at River of Life a Church Plant Dave and Ruth Christian had pioneered. It was on fathers day after pondering
the situation of so my orphaned children that the Lord spoke to Dave and Ruth to move to Uganda and sow into that field. Soon after saying yes Ruth found out She was pregnant
and would give birth to Abigail in Uganda. They also have two sons David and Aaron who went along on the Adventure. Ruth's Mother Alma Jones also went along but after one
year when the Christian family returned She remained. She still resides in Uganda now at 76 years old. You are never to old, God is in the re firing not retiring business.

Dave introduced us to the Todd and Vicki Bennett pastors of Kansas City Christian
Fellowship. They were part of the support base for Dave and Ruth. About the half way
mark for the Christians stay in Uganda we showed up with another team doing many of
the things we did the year before, This time with half of the Bennett crew . Vicki did a lot of
ministry with the women and Alex and Steven preached their hearts out. Of course
ministry included handing study bibles and ministry to widows and orphans.

Billy and Amy Bope walked into steers restaurant in Kampala Uganda to speak to
Kato and noticed Mazungo's "whites". We visited just enough to find out they were
from Indiana. Three years later while in Entebbe up walked Billy we both knew we
had met and soon put all the pieces together. After visiting we decided that since
our visions were so similar why not work together. Our common denominator was
Richard Kaaya who we both had worked with. So we combined teams the next year
and headed for Uganda of course we stopped by Steers for a picture for old times.
The only thing new for me was experiencing drama performances.
From Kansas city we had Alex and Steven Bennett and MacKenzie Higgins teenagers behaving greatly !!

Matthew 10:5-15 5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter
ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the
lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. 9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, 10 Nor scrip for your
journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. 11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire
who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. 12 And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it:
but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city,
shake off the dust of your feet. 15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that
city.
Ok I may be stretching it a bit, of course I am not one of the twelve, for sure not an apostle but what happens when a few ordinaries fly into a country with
absolutely no contacts and no hotel reservations. I had the privilege to go on a prayer journey with a large team led by Regina Shank a few years ago. We
started in Israel then flying into Ethiopia then back to Israel then driving through the Sinai to Kiro Egypt taking a sleeper train up to Luxor. We had many
Arabic Bibles to give away but no contacts. What would we do? Stepped off the train into chaos, found a young man that looked honest and asked Him to take
us to a Born-again church. He did and to our amazement we found out that their youth group the night before had asked the question does Matt 10 still apply
today? Are there still people who will just enter a city and see what God will do. They had stayed and prayed until 3am and their Youth leader said let us see
maybe the Lord will bring us such a person and at 7 am there we were. We were amazed by the way the Lord led. We ministered with the youth as they were
doing Bible school for the younger kids. We worshiped and prayed with them then that night off on the sleeper train. I failed to mention that while in the Sinai
we had military escort due to terrorist attaches in the area. WOW how I was personally stretched.
In 1990 the Lord had put the Dominican Republic on my heart with a specific message to preach. I had waited 17 years to go, funny how I have been all around
the world but no doors opened for the D.R. This spring 2007 I knew it was time, and myself and friend Ronnie Machado went in doing Bible Distribution with no
contacts. I really believed the Lord Jesus was going to open doors like He did in Bible times and like we saw in Egypt. He did the most radical things in front of
us, I hope to blog about it later. But for now I want to stir up faith that we are still in Bible times the book of Acts has no formal ending so it’s still happening.
Most of all Jesus is still the same yesterday, today and forever period. I am such a simple guy, I have no college degree I work 40 hours a week use my
vacation for mission trips. Don’t limit what God can do through normal every day Christians, Jesus is still building His Church and the gates of hell will NOT
prevail.
By divine appointment we met Mitch and Debbie Martinez and son Joshua missionaries to the Dominican Republic. They received us and opened their Home
and Joshua traveled with us as the Lord did great things. Here is their web site http://www.dominicanmissions.com/ they are doing a great work for the Lord
